By now, most of us have seen the QR code based shopping signs from grocery chain Tesco that are deployed in high traffic areas like bus stops and subway stations. That method works well for quick shopping on the go, but it doesn’t simulate the natural physical shopping experience we’ve all grown accustomed to. British software company Keytree has taken virtual shopping to the extreme with a 3D simulated store environment that works with the Microsoft Kinect camera. This method lets users browse aisles just as if they were actually in the store.
