A professor of chemisty at Sheffield University has developed a unique and potentially environmentally changing liquid laundry detergent additive called 'Catclo'. The additive contains titanium nanoparticles that cling to fabrics and work to rid the air of nitrogen oxides, a common air pollutant. How effective are they? Clothing worn by one person treated with Catclo can remove the equivalent of nitrogen oxide produced by one automobile per day.
