Sustainable Dance Club launched their floor tiles to be commercially available for use at events, clubs, and other high traffic locations as the world's first energy generating floor. Interlocking tiles are equipped with a microchip, small generator, and LED lights. As pressure is applied to the tile, the kinectic energy generated is converted into electricity. That electricity will power the LED lights in the tile and can be used collectively to power other devices as well. This unique setup can add eye-catching displays and buzz at events, plus they could be used as a long term sustainable power source. The Temple Night Club in San Francisco has installed the tiles as a permanent addition to their dance floor.
