Artist Creates GPS-Embedded Footwear

UK artist Dominic Wilcox created a digital footware prototype for the Global Footprint Project. Inspired by Dorothy from 'The Wizard of Oz', these unique shoes will help you find your next destination by simply clicking your heels. The handcrafted shoes are equipped with LED lights, GPS, processor, and a satellite antenna. Once an address is plugged in to a mapping website, the wearer can click the heels to trigger a switch which activates the tracking. LED lights on the toes of each shoe indicate the direction to walk and the remaining distance needed to travel in order to reach the planned location.
